WORKSHOP at the 2020 British BMG Federation BMG Festival
CLASSICAL RIGHT HAND TECHNIQUE FROM THEN UNTIL NOW
Right hand technique is one of the most important aspects of a classical mandolinist. First introduced in the 18th Century, these techniques have remained a vital element of classical mandolin repertoire. This workshop will look at Right Hand Technique education and how the techniques have evolved with the times. Participants will get a better understanding and a clear approach to practising classical right hand technique. Techniques such as ‘2:1 & 2:2’, glide stroke, harp arpeggio technique and its application will be discussed. These techniques are not just for soloists but for the everyday player.
